Tiny Desk AI Downloads: Music Version and Silent MP4

Oct 30, 2026

Download the music and silent versions from a completed Tiny Desk AI template task, then add your own soundtrack without generating the video again.

The current Tiny Desk template workflow supports a version with music and a separate silent MP4 for completed tasks. Open My videos and check the available download buttons on your successful task. Downloading another available version does not submit a new generation task.

A file with music and a silent file serve different purposes. Use the music version to review the completed performance, and use the silent version when you want to add another soundtrack in an editor. A silent download removes the sound; it does not change the singer's movements or create new lip synchronisation.

How do I download both versions?

  1. Sign in to the account that submitted the task and open My videos in the studio.
  2. Open the successful task and play the result. A queued, processing or failed task is not a completed download.
  3. Use the music download option for the video with its soundtrack.
  4. Use the silent download option when that output is available on the same task. It is a separate MP4, so keep both files if you want both versions.

Both downloads belong to the same generation. The current 15-second template uses one video credit per task, rather than another generation credit each time you download an available version. Check the studio's current requirements before submitting.

Can I upload my own song inside Tiny Desk?

The current template supplies the performance direction and audio; the studio does not offer a custom song upload. To use another song, download the silent MP4 and add audio in a video editor or the destination publishing app.

A simple workflow is to import the silent file, add audio you are allowed to use, adjust its start point and volume, and preview the full clip before exporting. You do not need to regenerate the visual performance just to change the soundtrack.

Changing the song in an editor does not make the generated mouth movements follow the new lyrics. Review the result rather than assuming automatic lip sync.

Does the music version include the original Outstanding recording?

Do not assume an exact original recording, a particular singer's voice or precise lip synchronisation. Listen to the actual file supplied by your task. The Outstanding-style template guide explains the workflow and its limits.

Tiny Desk is independent of NPR and the original performers. A video credit does not grant a licence to a song or concert recording. Check permissions for the soundtrack you plan to publish.

What if the silent button or download is missing?

First check that the task succeeded. Reopen its record and refresh the task status rather than submitting another generation. An unavailable second output should not be interpreted as a reason to pay for the same task again.

If a completed task still has no usable silent output, contact support with its task ID and the missing version. Keep private result links out of public posts. The task record and available files determine what you can actually download.

Can a new visitor purchase a video now?

As checked on October 30, 2026, new credit purchases are unavailable. Existing accounts with usable credits can check generation access in the studio. Guides and reference examples are free to view, but they are not free personalised renders.
